Information we collect

• Account details. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo.
• What you enter. The physical gold holdings you log (quantity, unit, purchase price and date) and your paper trading activity (virtual balance and simulated trades).
• Newsletter. Your email address, if you join the Gold Morning Briefing list.
• Chat messages. The questions you send to the Gold Consultant. We do not store your conversations.
• Usage information. Pages you visit, buttons you click, basic device and browser details, page performance, and recordings of how you move through the site (session replays).

How we use it

• To sign you in, run your account, value your holdings and run the simulator.
• To answer your questions in the Gold Consultant chat.
• To send you a welcome email and, once it launches, the newsletter you signed up for.
• To understand how the site is used, fix problems and improve it.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers that process information on our behalf, only to run the service:

• Supabase for our database and sign-in.
• Vercel for hosting, which includes basic request logs.
• Google for sign-in, and for the Gemini AI service that writes chat answers. Your chat messages are sent to Google for this.
• PostHog for analytics and session replays.
• Resend for sending email.

The market data and news providers we use receive no personal information about you. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in. Our analytics provider stores an identifier in your browser's local storage. You can clear both in your browser settings, and signing out ends your session.

Where your information is processed

Our providers may process your information in other countries, including the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, holdings and simulator data while your account is open, and your newsletter address until you ask us to remove it. Analytics data is kept for the period set by our analytics provider.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. You can also ask us to delete your account at any time. To make a request, email [privacy contact email].

Children

The Gold Metrics is not intended for anyone under 18.

Security

We use established providers and access controls to protect your information, but no online service can be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

When our practices change, we will update this page and the date at the top.
